Couldn't recommend more for a short visit
Comfortable room, excellent breakfast, we had a very good meal in the restaurant with some unique Welsh dishes that tasted great, and the staff accommodated my medical request without any issues.

The King Room was spacious and comfortable, with a cozy corner perfect for relaxation. The breakfast was fantastic with a wide variety of options, and the owner's warmth really made us feel at home. Great location near beautiful walking trails too!
Occasional noise from the pub below at night.

The King Room offers generous space with a cozy corner ideal for lounging, perfect after a long day of exploring. Breakfast delivers a fantastic spread with plenty of options, truly a highlight of the stay.
The bedroom floor slopes towards the window, which is typical for an old coaching inn but might be odd for some guests. One radiator struggled to provide enough heat, though extra blankets are available. Noisy disturbances from the busy bar below affected the tranquility of the second night. Dining had its hiccups, with meals going to the wrong table initially, and the room's billing had some confusion that needed addressing.

Just a good match for a weekend breather in Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain with good price-value balance. Food was tasty on the first night, but not up to par on the second. Beware of noise from the pub below.

The stay was for a short visit to explore local attractions. The homemade cod, chips, and mushy peas were absolutely delightful. I also appreciated the solid breakfast options available both mornings. reviewing the room setup, I found the arrangement of two single beds together was not very comfortable, and the TV situation was a bit of a puzzle.

The homemade cod, chips, and mushy peas at the Lion were absolute bangers! Had a lovely chat with the friendly owner, and the breakfast options were top-notch too.
Had a bit of a wrestling match with the bed situation—two singles joined together defeated my comfort levels. Plus, the telly was a right puzzle without proper connections.

Great staff and tasty dinner!
I was there for a night as a solo traveler. The staff were super friendly and really made me feel welcome. My dinner was delicious and hit the spot! But the breakfast didn't really match up to what I paid for it. Still, had a cozy Double or Twin Room.
